The scale of the proposals are too big for the infrastructure in and around the village. Currently there are poor levels of service and facilities never mind with increased housing / people/ traffic. There are are insufficient jobs in the village, Bourne or Market Deeping,only 1 small shop and significant concerns re traffic on the A15. King Street is insufficient for overflow. Simply building houses without additional amenities that do not require residents to drive is not well thought through and I object to the proposals

The site lies adjacent to A15, which see frequent accidents especially at the Greatford Road crossroads. The volume of traffic makes it difficult and dangerous for vehicles from Baston and nearby villages to access the A15. There are daily traffic jams in both directions between Market Deeping and Bourne.
There are no safe, walkways connecting the site to Baston village and all village amenities.
No continuous foot/cycle paths to link Baston to Bourne or Deeping schools and amenities. A limited bus service.
Baston Primary school over capacity with no space for additional building.
Flooding next to site 2 years running

There are multiple accidents at the crossroads on A15 due to the heavy traffic to and from Bourne making it a nightmare to get in and out of Main St and Greatford Road. With 283 new house, this matter is going to get 10x worse, with more accidents and traffic. What is already a very dangerous crossroad is potentially going to become even more dangerous. There are lots of children and pets in this village and by allowing this decision to go ahead, you're putting their lives at risk.
I urge ANYONE on the council involved with this to visit during rush hours and see exactly why all residents are up in arms about this. There are no safety precautions what so ever in the plan.
What is also disappointing, is the lack of consideration for the village itself. These homes are not being built by a high end developer, they're going to reduce the value of this village and cause people to move outside the district. Just down the road in Langtoft, a new development was built but to a high standard so it's in keeping with the village itself.

Whilst I appreciate that these housing targets are set by central government, this location can not be considered suitable for either the volume of traffic (283 homes could mean in excess of 500 cars), or the additional number of children who will be wanting to attend the school in the village (NB, there is only one school in the village for the public, Kirkstone House School is a private school for fee-paying pupils). Additionally, the local provision for GP surgeries is under incredible pressure, and dental practice places as an NHS patient are non-existant.

I am concerned that this will change the fabric of the village - a 38% increase seems huge! I am very worried about access in and out of the village, particularly at peak times.

I consider that the rest of my fellow residence of Baston are understanding the needs for more houses being built in the Country in general. What people are worried about are the needs for proper infrastructure like road safely on the very busy A15 road running through our village and a proper operating Dr’s Surgery able to deal with the influx of more people into the village. Already the very large sand and gravel Lorry’s are dangerous just by being so large and so heavy vehicles which even in a 40 mph speed limit are very intimidating and extremely dangerous especially as well in the narrowness of the main A15 which runs through the village. Vehicles have got bigger, faster and heavier but the roads have not grown with them.
I am sure that the authorities will take all my points into concern but please implement extra precautions as the traffic will without doubt expand in volume.
I thank you for allowing me to put forward my observations and to add that I am a realist and I also love my village.

All new housing in Baston must be AFFORDABLE for young people and young families. We need this to keep our village alive.
There is no spare educational capacity at the CofE primary school. Kirkston House is a fee paying school, don't get confused.
Conduct a traffic survey on a school day at 8.30am or 4pm for a REALISTIC account of the danger at the A15 junction. We do not want 1 fatality, let alone 3 for action to be taken.

We wish to object to the hugely increased envelope of housing proposed for Baston
* the A15 cannot cope
* the school is full
* the gp services are stretched now
* there are not two primaries as stated as one is an independent school
* the cross roads and several junctions are lethal including Waterside with added pressure from Thetford farm
* Kings street is dangerous and inadequate

Site known as SKPR-204 and SKPR-68 could be considered a phase 2 to SKPR-319 for a development of up to 177 new homes.
Fully supports the proposed allocation of the land south of Greatford Road under designation SKPR-319 and the proposed delivery of circa 285 units.
