The Plan is out of date and does not address current housing development pressures . Policy 3 should be replaced to clearly state that only modest scale ( 10 to 20 dwellings ) proposals should be permitted at the Development Footprint edge . The village school is grossly over subscribed and poorly located causing major parking and traffic conflict . A policy is required to promote its relocation to an alternative site elsewhere in or near the village . That there are suitable and available alternative sites is demonstrated by current development proposals before SKDC .

I formally object to the local plan as it's based on out of date data. Barrowby is experiencing intensive new build housing which will more than double the housing stock in the Barrowby parish boundary. These developments will have a detrimental effect upon the environment and infrastructure, these haven't been identified in the plan. The plan needs to focus on protecting the semi rural location by protecting the remaining open countryside that is paramount in stopping the spread of the urban intrusion of the bigger Grantham Town expansion.

The wording throughout the plan is far to ambiguous. Recent village poll - no more developments. Barrowby has already delivered its share of new housing. This plan needs to clearly state this. It mentions the plan is to protect the VILLAGE aspect, yet this plan leaves this open. Its needs to be a clear NO! Keep Barrowby and village not a suburb. West side of Barrowby has unique visual aspects these need to be protected along with NATURAL walks not man made ones. NO to more developments should be the clear message here.

There are necessary changes that need to be made to the neighbourhood plan before it can be adopted. These include presumption against development on greenfield sites, a protected green buffer on the western side of Barrowby in particular where the sensitive Harlaxton Denton Bowl landscape sits, a presumption against futher development that exceeds the stated AECOM housing needs assessment (that is already exceeded by current developments), protection for our rural public rights of way as an ammenity of high value to our village, and recognition of key views and dynamic skylines in Barrowby, particularly across the western edge towards harlaxton.

No more housing on greenfield sites unless a clear local need. There is already building being carried out that more than doubles the housing in Barrowby without any new facilities. An official report states that Barrowby has already met its housing target up to 2041
The plan requires explicit wording to prevent destruction of the village and its surrounds and prevent developers exploiting us.
More protection is needed to preserve existing views and rights of way.
Barrowby needs to be protected as a village and not swallowed up be the expansion of Grantham.
Enough is enough.

The Barrowby Plan contains a lot of words but what it does not say is most concerning. There needs to be an explicit and unambiguous statement that no further greenfield development or building will take place in or adjacent to Barrowby that was not approved prior to 31 December 2025. For all the reasons articulated multiple times in the huge volume of objections to the Grange Paddock and Rectory Lane planning applications. Barrowby is not an infinite resource to be plundered. This needs to be articulated loud and clear. It has contributed more than enough new housing already.

Policy 3 Housing para 6.13 Edge of village.Two planning applications grange paddock 195 houses; Rectory Lane 90 houses. These meet no specific need and are purely speculative. Grange Paddock development will destroy the Harlaxtion DentonBowl and create unsustainable increase in traffic in narrow lanes. Rectory Lane likewise will increase traffic entering and exiting from A52. Neither will be integrated or assimilated as part of the village. These 285 houses plus other developments equals approximately 1,000 additional dwelling doubling Barrowby size meaning that Barrowby is no longer a village but Grantham suburb

Update to Barrowby Plan
No to more Houses in Barrowby. We already have our supposed number already been built or allocated to be built already.
No New Houses to be built on Western Edge. Along Gingerbread Way up to Pancake Hill with views to Harlaxton Manor.
It needs Important Views identifying looking out from Barrowby and the protection of rural rights of way and footpaths.
Barrowby needs to remain a village. Protected by a defined Green Buffer around the Barrowby boundary.

I am concerned that the Draft Neighbourhood Plan fails to protect Barrowby from overdevelopment. Barrowby has contributed more than its fair share of housing. The Neighbour Plan must utilise this evidence to make the policies powerful enough to provide sufficient protection for Barrowby to prevent overdevelopment and to prevent the village from becoming merely a suburb of Grantham. I would therefore respectfully ask that policies 1,3, 6 and 7 be strengthened to guarantee that Barrowby's rural character and its western landscape are preserved and protected both in the short term and long term future.

I object to the draft neighbourhood plan, it is too vague and leaves the village vulnerable to development. Greenfield sites should not be built on unless there is clear evidence of specific local need. The plan allows development on land adjacent to the village footprint without clear limits, developers will exploit. It must include explicit wording preventing development west of the village to protect countryside views. Important views should be identified in the plan. Public rights of way must remain rural paths, not alleys between houses. A defined green buffer is needed to prevent the village being absorbed into Grantham.

I don’t believe the Barrowby Neighbourhood Plan is precise enough. Although AECOM confirms the village has met its housing target, the imprecision of the report enables further development adjacent to the footprint. The report should say NO to further housing on greenfield sites.
There isn’t enough protection of the Barrowby pathways/views. The report should specify views/pathways which are protected allowing broader landscapes to be visible-not simply housing development pathways.
Furthermore development in Barrowby will naturally merge the village into Grantham. No distinction between village and town will be visible. Ultimately and sadly the village aesthetic will be no more.

I think that it is essential that the plan makes it clear that there should be no more new housing allowed in Barrowby, as there is already too much development going on causing traffic problems in the village. It needs to ensure that we stay a village and the surrounding countryside is protected. To achieve this, we need the plan to define a Green Buffer around the village which prevents the village being merged into Grantham. People live in Barrowby because it is a village and enjoy the countryside using the footpaths so these also need protection.

We already have more housing in Barrowby than local services can cope with. We have already met our housing target up to 2041! No more should be built on greenfield sites.
Our views and walks are an integral part of village life and some have already been taken away. In particular, the west and south of the village should be protected from more housing incursion. Our countryside views and rural public rights of way should be protected. We require a protected area around the village, particularly in the areas which are not already urban views.
