Respondent: Mr Stuart Jackson

Representation Summary:

Who determines growth need. SKDC is desecrating green field sites in order to provide a guaranteed future cash flow by way of Council Tax. Hence the building of potentially band C and above properties with no 1/2 bed properties to provide for first time buyers or the elderly. Many of the sites identified around Grantham are essentially on clay soil which combined with extreme wet and dry periods will lead to structural instability.

Response to GR3: Grantham Allocations. reference SKPR-57
We are aware of various other developments which are intended to be built in and around Belton Lane and the village of Great Gonerby. It is vital for the already overdeveloped north of Grantham that SKDC planning listen to local people and developers in order to ensure the area is developed in a controlled and sustainable manner.

Think again, Grantham does not “need” nearly 6000 more houses, there are thousands already. Leave the countryside alone.

Grantham has not got the infrastructure to come with more houses. The town centre is appalling and further housing would only be for people planning to commute outside the area so bringing nothing to the community.

Regulation 18 Draft Local Plan

Representation ID: 2420

Received: 25/04/2024

Respondent: Vistry Group

Agent: Boyer Planning

Representation Summary:

Allocations are reliant on the Grantham Southern Relief Road (GSRR), such as the Spitalgate Heath allocation (GR3-H1) and Prince William of Gloucester Barracks allocation (GR3-H4) have been continuously pushed back. It is noted that the anticipated delivery of these sites up until 2041 has been amended however, with little certainty of when the GSRR will be completed, this needs to be taken into consideration.

It is considered that the Land West of Grantham can assist in meeting the identified housing need for the Grantham Area.
