Always on the agenda but usually kicked into the long grass, affordable housing including social housing must be a priority with a significant proportion of 1/2 bed properties and starter homes rather than high end properties that give developers the maximum returns. Good for developers but bad for meeting social needs.

Proposals for affordable housing tend to be removed or reduced. Where is the social housing?

Unfairly or not, sites for Gypsies and Travellers are very unpopular, especially with those living near them. Integration will not work.

SKPR-241 to produce social and affordable housing in this location of the village is not in keeping with the type of houses which surround this green site. An alternative area should be sought, brown fields on the outskirts of the village, such as land opposite the memorial hall on Belton Lane, this site would be suitable for all types of housing, a road to bypass Newark Hill junction, and possibly a secondary school, as children in Great Gonerby do not get places at Priory Ruskin academy unless a sibling is there. Most travel out of town, with great cost.
