The character of Grantham being urban areas interwoven with beautiful fields, a town which integrates into open countryside, is being destroyed by development. This contradicts point-2.24
2.25 The increased traffic along Manthorpe Road and Gonerby Road/North Parade will increase the already high levels of pollution and congestion in the north of Grantham. Levels of NO2 (Nitrogen Dioxide) were dangerous not so long ago. This caused Grantham to set up the air quality management zone. Long-term exposure to high levels of NO2 cause chronic lung disease affecting senses including smell etc.It's a major contribution to ozone which is harmful when inhaled.

SKPR-241 this area should be removed from the local plan in order to protect the rich biodiversity of these green fields, which have been in situ for well over 200 years. There are TPOs and ancient hedgerows. To remove all this for bricks and mortar will go against policy EN3 Green Infrastructure, and also Grantham's Green Infrastructure Strategy which this area is mentioned as "The Great Gonerby Walk". This area is greatly enjoyed by families, walkers, runners and cyclist, removing this will impact on adults and children's mental health and well-being. REMOVE SKPR-241 FROM THE LOCAL PLAN
