Development will be expected to contribute to the community, ideally via the Parish Council. Parking issues within the developments – if insufficient then parking on the road takes places detracts from aesthetics and safety issues. Green space is important. Communal green space maintenance and charges have to be carefully considered.
Parish Council would welcome the ability to input at Pre application stage. Encourage the higher percentage of affordable houses on these sites and welcome being reserved for family links to the village. It would be advisable to highlight specific boundary treatment were coming up against existing houses.

Archaeology assessment required (finds to south and west) SM 1004958 to west beyond Pottergate Road. This is a high potential area for prehistoric through roman activity – in association with Jurassic Way – Lincolnshire. Lincoln to Stamford section of prehistoric route linking Yorkshire and Somerset. The features marked to the immediate south and west are former quarries (west) and the train station (south). Criteria e within policy SKPR-283 is noted.

Overall, we consider that the draft allocations selected have been subject to a reasonable and proportionate assessment and that, in particular, the proposed allocation of Site SPKR-283 is justified by the evidence. That said, there are a number of factors recorded as constraints or as potential negative effects associated with developing the Site which would not, in fact, occur. Accordingly, we consider that the next round of consultation should be supported by a more open-textured, less formulaic assessment of Sites against the SA Objectives which considers actual effects and impacts rather than simple distance.
