If I understand this correctly, then the Local Plan sets the strategic overview which the neighbourhood plans then dovetail into. My concern is that as the District is made up of a number of communities which demonstrate differing characteristics, a 'one size fits all' view overlooks the nuances of those communities. I appreciate that a strategic approach is essential but SKDC residents must buy into the local plan for its beneficial aims to come to fruition.

Grantham residents do not have a Parish Council (Town Council) and are therefore disadvantaged towards protecting their community from overdevelopment. This consultation is lacking the opinion of the local community gained from the knowledge and discussions associated with a parish/town council through a Neighbourhood Plan.
The planning team should have consulted the townsfolk of Grantham specifically due to their lack of representation. This is a major flaw in this site allocation as government moves towards consultation and listening to local people.
Looking at housing allocations locally it suggests SKDC have taken advantage of the lack of representation within Grantham's boundaries.

Great Gonerby PC has registered that its going to produce a neighbourhood plan, however these plans are not produced over night. All of the parish council are against the development of SKPR-241 and want it removed from the local plan and another alternative site be developed instead. All of the PC have signed the petition, which has been handed in to SKDC on 24/04/2024 to remove this site

The Corby Glen Neighbourhood Plan was considered at SKDC’s Full Council meeting on 29th February 2024 and it was concluded that all the necessary conditions for making the Plan part of the Statutory Development Plan for South Kesteven had been met

I object to the Neighbourhood Plan status map, Corby Glen is listed as a designated Neighbourhood Plan area, but the Neighbourhood Plan was actually adopted by the full council in January 2024. As it is adopted it’s full power should be recognised.

Neighbourhood Plans are the result of a lot of hard work by passionate people who are very connected to their local communities. They are the best available expression of the nuances of local geography, economy and community in any given neighbourhood. A truly 'local' plan will take heed of the wishes of local communities endorsed by communities who vote for a neighbourhood plan.

A considerable amount of work went into the preparation of the (Claypole) Neighbourhood plan, including a Survey, development of policies, drafting and local engagement. The referendum on the Plan was supported by 95.9% of those voting, and 33.5% voted. I find that no weight is given to the existence of the Plan, so recently approved by the Local Authority. The map in the Draft South Kesteven Local Plan does not show the fact that adoption of the Plan has taken place. This is inaccurate.

I am particularly concerned that the Draft South Kesteven Local Plan does not reflect the content of the Neighbourhood Plan and the work done on the nature of the settlement, its facilities, design concerns, and the relationship with and proximity to, Newark and Fernwood

The Parish Council highlights that Figure 4: Neighbourhood Plan Designation Map in the Local Plan Review is factually incorrect in respect of Claypole. The Claypole Neighbourhood Plan was passed at Referendum on the 5th October 2023 at which point it became part of the development plan, it was subsequently ‘made’ (which is now purely an administrative act) by SKDC on the 23rd November 2023.
