Highways issue. Narrow High Street towards the A1 with no room to expand on either side as there are residential dwellings, and Thistleton Lane with low bridge. These roads are not suitable to cope with the traffic that will be generated by new houses.

I have made comments regarding the development on Mill Lane / Thistleton Lane and add here that with the access from both development sites merging onto the same point, that a potential of nearly 150 cars extra twice daily.
Again we dont have the healthcare infrastructure to cope.
Most of us who live in the villages are seeking to distress from urban and city life not lose all our country land to buildings and congestion.

At the moment it is impossible to get a doctor’s appointment within a month. How are people with chronic health conditions supposed to get apple to maintain them with an extra hundred or so houses in the village?
Also. Where are all of these extra people supposed to park? It’s already nearly impossible to get through the village because of traffic and parking volumes.
The proposal also says that there will a buffer between the quarry and the housing. The land in plot 275 was supposed to be that buffer between the last lot of housing and the quarry!

Agent: Savills
The site is allocated in the adopted Local Plan for 31 dwellings and Savills are working on behalf of LDTBF to secure a development partner for the land in their ownership and these discussions are at an advanced stage. Should the adjacent land (SKPR-192) be formally allocated, our client would be pleased to work with them towards a comprehensive scheme/masterplan for the whole site. However, this does not affect the commitment of LDTBF to deliver the proposed 31 dwellings on their own site - SKPR-276. The draft criteria in the policy appear reasonable and would be used to inform future technical and design work.

The allocation in South Witham for 138 new homes is welcomed and supported, Buckminster being the site owner and promoter of the part comprising 107 homes. We are already in discussion with the agent for the owners of the existing allocation for 37 homes. The comprehensive master plan approach is supported as it means a coherent and more efficient development sharing infrastructure e.g. access and drainage.
