Regulation 18 Draft Local Plan

Representation ID: 279

Received: 18/03/2024

Respondent: Miss Carys Vaughan

Representation Summary:

I support this principle but land designated priority habitat should also not be built on if it is on the boundary between districts. I refer here to Quarry Farm (technically in Rutland but part of Stamford’s built up area) which would fall under the dark green category as it contains priority habitat. The Stamford North development cannot divorce itself from the ensuing destruction of Quarry Farm as a result of this cross-boundary development opportunity - any part of a development that falls into a neighbouring district should be judged by the same criterion.

I cannot support a ‘plan’ that advocates widespread destruction of the local countryside.
