Regulation 18 Draft Local Plan

Respondent: Mr John Bavister

Representation Summary:

Contrary to a well touted perception development will not bring back sustainable facilities. Current
history reveals Pubs, Shops and Post offices closing at a dramatic rate throughout the country, especially rural. With any large development, we risk losing our rural charm and becoming just another urban sprawl. Our Parish has very few facilities and most according to the Neighbourhood plan wish it to stay that way.

Representation Summary:

It is important to consider acute health care provision. Grantham has lost its A&E department. Downgraded to an Urgent Treatment Centre.

As Chair of SOS Grantham Hospital i conducted a survey when the consultation re the downgrade took place.
Of over 1000 responses only 2 residents believed it was right to continue developing Grantham and increasing population.
Grantham has also lost its Maternity Unit.

Respondent: Mr Gavin Parnaby

Representation Summary:

Can you please explain why the Sustainability Appraisal (SA) for the South Kesteven Local Plan Review document does not have a full list of all the assessment scores and maps for each of the sites assessed. I note with interest that there are several sites assessed as being suitable and brought forward into the plan for which there is no assessment visible. How is there supposed to be a transparent consultation when information is deliberately withheld?

I cannot support any ‘plan’ that advocates widespread destruction of the local countryside.
