Representation Summary:

The new Plan requires more robust and clear Policies regarding 'Exception Sites'.
Furthermore, new Policy SP4 Policy that includes the requirement to provide a ‘demonstration of clear local community support’ is, in our view flawed and would seriously hamper the delivery of suitable ‘exception sites’ in the district. The LPA should be wholly responsible for the determination of planning applications. The local communities should, of course, be part and parcel of the planning process in terms of consultation but having the right to effectively ‘veto’ a development proposal is wholly inappropriate and will drive down the deliverability of Affordable Housing.
