“The built environment is suitably prepared for hotter temperatures and impacts of disruptive weather”. This paragraph must be taken into account with future large development in Thurlby. The sewerage system cannot cope with current housing developments. Flooding issues in Thurlby and Northorpe during heavy rain with no way to discharge rainwater/stormwater. The vision has been amended to strengthen council’s commitment to climate change but has not been taken account with proposals in Thurlby. Proposals in Thurlby do not comply with SK Vision. The local plan should deliver sustainable growth where the infrastructure is in place to support it. This is not the case in Thurlby.

There is a Methodist church hall. There is no social club. There is a community hall with sports fields and children’s play equipment and adult external exercise equipment.

Representation Summary:

Why Assumed Density :30 dwellings per hectare and not approximate density 25 dwellings per hectare as in above Elm Farm? Include no vehicle access from the High Street, only pedestrian. The site shown is in a very low area of ground with risk of flooding from the drain on the southern boundary. Situated on a narrow road into the open countryside beyond the existing built houses boundary of the village. The development will be very close to the historic land know as The Pingle as well close to an SSSI site, Dole Wood. This site is not suitable for a development of 86 dwellings.
