Regulation 18 Draft Local Plan
SKPR-266 – Stamford Gateway (Exeter Fields)
Representation ID: 1311
Received: 25/04/2024
Respondent: Stamford Town Council
This site was previously allocated as employment use and we believe it should stay the same. The fact that an screening application (Environmental impact) has been raised for 300 houses on the site (as well as other facilities) with increased traffic on Empingham Road is unacceptable when Stamford is in desperate need for small business units to encourage businesses to come to the town rather than elsewhere. We strongly object to this proposed allocation of housing on the draft Local Plan

In the adopted Local Plan, there are 1300 properties allocated on this site. The revised application adds 50 houses and also includes the removal of the bund at outline planning stage. The developer has provided the data that they believe proves that by building houses in the space where the bund currently is, this mitigates the potential noise and lights pollution to the existing houses in Armley Grove, Berrybut Close and Turnpole Close. We don't believe that this is the case so would like the application revised to the previous numbers and the bund retained
