There is no consideration for facilities to accompany an additional 150 homes in the village. Looking at the nearest schools they are all over subscribed and this is before further developments that have already been approved within Bourne.
The highways infrastructure is also inadequate to accomodate the increase in traffic throughout the village. The proposed access point on Obthorpe lane is currently only wide enough for a single car to drive along comfortably with the verge being used when needed to pass. Adding another 50-100 cars requiring to use that road as access to their home is not acceptable.

Cumulative Impact (SKPR-56 + SKPR-277: 136 dwellings)
Together, these allocations represent a disproportionate scale of growth for Thurlby/Northorpe, generating around 325 residents and ~40+ additional primary pupils. The combined traffic would overwhelm Obthorpe Lane’s single-track capacity and worsen A15 crossing/severance problems, with only one controlled crossing currently provided. Both sites sit within Green Infrastructure Areas, risking landscape and biodiversity harm. Sewerage and drainage systems already fail in heavy rain, and school capacity is exhausted. Without a village-wide masterplan, combined transport package, and drainage/education strategies, allocating both sites is unsound and risks severe cumulative harm.

Visual and physical impact on the natural landscape & habitats.
Noise impact during and after proposed construction and when the site is occupied.

Were you already have a problem with flooding, sewage coming up from The drains when we have heavy rain you would need to provide new infrastructure new pumping station. The road is not wide enough people walk down of Thorpe to the beautiful woods with their dogs & children. if you were coming in from the A15, it’s gonna have a knock on effect with traffic, especially when they go down the dip & turn right into the housing development is on the I can see lots of accidents happening.The primary school is already oversubscribed.we can’t even get doctors app

The village does not have the infrastructure to support these plans to build houses within the boundaries of Thurlby. Traffic on the A15 is already at overload. We take our life in our hands trying to exit the village via high street onto the A15 heading South. There is insufficient drainage. Northorpe Lane floods when there is heavy rain. The whole point of living in a village is to live a quieter life where possible. Let Allison Homes desicrate green belt land elsewhere. Will they build a school, Dr's surgery, create a new road ? NO they won't!

Obthorpe Lane is a very narrow road an access to both junctions is a nightmare. This is prime agricultural land it should not be built no amenities for anything. Doctors are full and dentist are full so the schools. Look at sewage which was leaking out on the road of bank holiday weekend in the village.

Access off a narrow country lane with poor visibility is a major concern; plus the fact that the village sewage system is already struggling, with raw sewage frequently flooding roads! Plus we are losing too much valuable agricultural land in this area - very shortsighted. And local schools are at full capacity.

This development is not needed in Thurlby when there is a huge amount of development 1.5 miles up at Bourne (and more coming)
The demand is not there and services will be stretched.
The village would increase like the UK population out of control it could add atleast 800 residents almost imposible to intigrate with the existing community.

In terms of the proposal and the village we consider this to be (1) an over development of inappropriate scale (2) will place strain on local infrastructure and services = schools / doctors / dentists etc (3) will result in road and traffic safety concerns; including pedestrians and children going to school (4) lead to environmental and wildlife impact due to the loss of green land and (5) increase associated problems with sewage escape and village flood risks due to the existing infrastructure / pumping station already working beyond its capacity. I object to the proposed development of 136 additional dwellings in Thurlby as this would increase the volume of traffic accessing the A15 by around 200 vehicles per day. The volume of traffic on the A15 both north and south is already making it difficult to leave the village. The proposed additional development would make it virtually impossible without long delays.

I am concerned with the increase in housing. The village has not got the primary structure, as well as the secondary. The infrastructure is not there to allow for transport. It is already a challenge to get to work with the movement of cars. This would make it impossible. The flooding concerns as well.

I object to the proposed plan. Obthorpe Lane is not suitable for the extra traffic it will generate. It is difficult to get out onto the A15 as it is. Thurlby school cannot take anymore pupils and the Bourne Doctors are struggling as it is. The water and sewage ststems cannot cope as it is. We have regular water leaks and raw sewage flowing into the road and properties.

On behalf of Thurlby Parish Council I Object to the Thurlby Local Plan. I was not involved in the LP development but have been reassured by fellow P Councillors that the Plan has been amended and is not in keeping.
1 - The access road is not wide enough as things stand let alone potentially 180+ more vehicles using the road daily.
2- We already have issues with flooding and surface water, 90+ new homes will only exacerbate this.
3 - Thurlby school is over subscribed, where will children living in new homes go?
4 - Local infrastructure is lacking

Roads in bad state within the village already, let alone adding up to potentially 180 cars to it with most households being a 2 car household, also increasing more traffic on A15.
School is already full.
Drainage is leaking on both sides of the village, causing overflow to run down the roads.
Already have massive development still on going at Elsea park, do you need another 90 houses 2 minutes down the road being built?
All the added pollution, cars, noise, light, etc…
Houses will be of poor quality build, won’t be worth the paper they are written on.

Lack of capcity in public infrastructure, with drainage systems and water supplies. The High Street constantly floods, raw sewage spills into the pulic foot path and highway. Raw sewage and silt was dumped on my driveway every time we had a downpoor. There are water leaks on Northorpe lane and the High Street which are not dealt with in a timely manner casing road surface damge and low water pressure. Highway infrastucture Obthorpe Lane.This single track road is a bottle neck and rat run. Exacerbted by accidents on the A15 at Northorpe, High Street junctions.

It would be a catastrophe for the rural nature of the village-
It cannot cope with town sized developments - not enough infrastructure - oversubscribed school
Horrendous traffic at A15 junction with Thurlby crossroads
and this site is totally unsuitable with a highly dangerous access off a single track road within a hidden dip with extremely poor visibility
That side of the village would lose its most beautiful green spaces -
the most unspoilt countryside views of the whole village
and would be despoiled for ever

Before any further housing is considered, the instruction of the A15 needs to be resolved. It is already extremely difficult to exit the village onto the A15. There are also issues with drainage in the village that can not cope with the houses we have. My biggest issue is proximity to Dole Wood and the nature in the area.

SKPR56 Highways - Obthorpe Lane is too narrow to accept increased traffic and crossroads at A15/High Street already too busy. A15 unable to cope with additional traffic from Peterborough to Bourne. Environmental - wastewater infrastructure already overloaded-repeated flooding issues. Public services- lack of NHS dentist, GP's and hospitals, also Police. Thurlby and Northorpe are served by local market town of Bourne. Investment is needed in Bourne (or Deeping/Stamford) to provide more public services (dentists, doctors, hospitals, police, schools) before there can be development of the proposed scales within Bourne and the villages it serves. Improvements would also be required to the road network and wastewater infrastructure. 4 bedroom houses are struggling to sell within the village whilst there is a lack of affordable housing- any planning proposals should be a majority of affordable properties with gardens and driveways to assist with rainwater soakaway.
