I object to this proposal on these grounds:
1. Poor visibility in and out of the lane causing danger to pedestrians and other cars. Any incidents at the junction could lead to emergency vehicles not reaching residents on the lane. There is no other access.
2. The proposal does not fit in with the current buildings on church lane.
3. Increase in risk of flooding on the main road from run off from the houses as the fields currently prevent this.
4. Disturbance of wildlife.
5. Church Lane is a well used area for walkers and this will become unsafe.

Regarding the proposed development SKPR-241 (Land Off Church Lane, Great Gonerby) specifically what does SKDC consider to be “the relevant principles for development” set out in Policy EN3 Green Infrastructure Area?
The proposed development would appear to impair the existing Green Infrastructure Area.

What specifically has changed please?

The land proposed for development in Church Lane is the only green space in the village and should remain as such. There are much better usage for the land than high density housing. The village needs a doctors surgery or medical centre this would be a suitable location. A retirement village would be more in keeping than what is proposed.
The proposed high density housing is not appropriate, any housing should be in keeping with existing dwellings in Church Lane. The existing dwellings are council tax band D,E &F. Each with in their own plot with off road parking .

This proposed development should not go ahead for the following reasons :
1. Loss of green areas used by local residents for walking and fresh air.
2. Loss of long established paddocks and hedges, supporting numerous wildflowers and wildlife. This area may even be a SSSi if surveyed.
3. Increase in traffic on a dangerous corner near to the primary school.
4. Loss of the “Pinfold”, an old part of the village that is of special importance. This would have to be lost to widen the entrance to allow access.

Vehicle access at Church Lane/Grantham Road junction is not suitable for the volume of traffic generated by the proposed development. Visibility for pedestrians crossing from the other side is currently severely restricted, the existing pedestrian crossing is being moved further away, so the increased traffic represents a significant pedestrian hazard.
The site immediately adjacent to the Church Lane junction is one of historical significance ‘The Pinfold’ animal pound which has existed for at least 200 years and would be at risk from a junction redevelopment.

POLLUTION
Under GGON06 in Oct 09 the Internal Drainage Bard considered it unlikley that the Sites can discharge into Running Furrows Drain. The Proposal suggests major risk of ground water flooding and issues regarding effluent disposal. Nothing has since changed.

DENSITY
The proposed Housing Density would dominate the environs and character of the Village beside an important Conservation Area. Further, this would exacerbate traffic flow onto an already heavy traffic route, threaten road safety from an unsuitable vehicle exit route, inevitably create noise in a valued green space and nuisance with regard to rubbish disposal and threat of breakthrough of valued hedgerows into Restricted Byway.
This Proposal must be remove from the Local Plan.

TRAFFIC
The Site was REJECTED for development under GGON06 in Oct 09. A major constraint identified by the Highway Authority was that the area is landlocked so there is no access to maintainable highway. The Conclusion was that "No access renders site unsuitable". Nothing has changed in the respect. Important Heritage Site - The Pinfold - afronts the Site. Without damaging ancient hedgerows, there would be no possibility of forcing new access to the Site.
This Proposal must be removed from the Local Plan.

LOSS OF HERITAGE
Church Lane is a historically important Green Lane. The Paddocks within the Proposed Development have been historically recognised through mapping for over 200 years. The green space is important to the well-being of the Villagers. Horses, including Rare Breeds, have enjoyed grazing on this Site for many years, bringing visual pleasure and well-being to walkers along the Restricted Byway.
This Proosal must be removed from the Local Plan.

LOSS OF LANSCAPE CHARACTER & NATURAL BIODIVERSITY
The Development Site is bounded by a 5-species rich hedge over 200m long which has existed for more than 30 years. There are Tree Preservation Orders on several valued trees to the boundary. There is much wildlife, seen on a daily basis. Natural wild plants and flowers populate the area throughout the seasons. GGON06 acknowledges the "Development in this location would have a significant impact on the visual character of the Village". Policy EN3 Green Infrastructure would be railroaded.
This Proposal must be removed from the Local Plan.

NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN
A Neighbourhood Plan gives communities direct power to develop a shared vision for their neighbourhood and shape the development of their local area. They are able to choose where they want new homes and facilities to be built, have their say of what those new buildings should look like, what infrastructure should be provided and grant planning permission for the new buildings they want to see go ahead. The Great Gonerby Neighbourhood Plan is under development. It will not take legal precedence for a couple of years more. Are SKDC tactically trumping our rights to choose?

GG PCC has submitted a petition to SKDC. I confirm that this petition represents my objections. The traffic on Church Lane and the dangers to injury and life at what will be a resultant very busy junction with the B1174 road are not conducive to public health and safety.
Church Lane is also a serene and safe area for anyone to use, with very little traffic. A change to this will cause heavy traffic and increase risk to pedestrians, dog walkers and children. The noise pollution would also spoil the calm feel of the area

Proposed land SKPR-241 development on this land will undoubtedly have a permeant and detrimental impact on the visual character of the village, especially approaching the conservation area from the South heading North, this has been mentioned as an open space, a development of 86 dwellings would massively impact on the open space, it would be a negative intrusion into the open countryside. This site has been up for planning before but has been rejected as not suitable due to access, Church Lane is a restricted by-way and not fit for vehicles nor access for vehicles from 86 proposed dwellings.

The Land off Church lane SKPR-241 should be removed from the Local Plan. Development on this site will undoubtedly have a permanent and detrimental impact on the area. Church lane is a single track restricted by-way and is not fit for the influx of vehicles from the proposed 86 dwellings. This site has been up for planning before, and each time it has been rejected due to access issues and not fit for purpose. The outlay of these green fields have not changed for well over 200 years, along with Church Lane, so the outcome from proposed planning shouldn't change.

GG PCC submitted a petition to SKDC. I confirm this petition represents my objections.
My objections include:
Increased traffic to dangerous levels at junction Church Lane/B1174
Church Lane is an area of tranquility which will be spoilt for all users
Area has historical connections - develop other areas in the village without impacting the tranquility, safety for all walkers, and historical connections.
The green space is a haven for all users having a positive impact on the mental health of all villagers.
Hedgerows are 100s years old - develop other areas where the history and wildlife won't be impacted.

GG PCC has submitted petition to SKDC. I confirm that this petition represents my objections.
Increased traffic and redesigned junction of Church Lane will cause congestion and endanger pedestrians crossing from the opposite side where visibility is already very poor.
Loss of historic village identity - 200 year old hedgerows, historic 'Pinfold' site.
Flood pollution to GG high street, school and church due to loss of water-holding fields.
Negative impact on mental health and wellbeing of villagers due to removal of tranquil walking/cycling environment of Church Lane.

SKPR-241 Church Lane and the Green field paddocks have had the same documented outline for well over 200 years, documented on maps. SKDC should remove this site from there plan as the paddocks should not disappear in 20 years time, but should remain in situ for the next 200 years for everyone to enjoy as they do today.
