Proposed Housing and Mixed-Use Site Allocations

Representation ID: 3478
Received: 27/08/2025
Respondent: Environment Agency
The proposed site allocation will be connecting to Bourne Water Recycling Centre. Therefore, we recommend the following is included as a principle:
'Additional treatment capacity is required at waste water treatment works and new discharge permits are required for water quality targets. This should be incorporated early on in the development of scheme specifics, as part of a scheme wide delivery strategy which demonstrates that capacity is available or could be made available to serve the development subject to phasing'.

We support the inclusion of Principle D to ensure the high flood risk area is not developed. We would like to highlight that since the site was allocated, the flood map for planning has been updated and the high risk flood zone 3 area has increased.
We also request an additional principle in regard to waste water treament works. The proposed site allocation will be connecting to Ancaster Water Recycling Centre and the data available to us suggests that there may be limited capacity to accept additional flows.
