This is a written representation from the residents of Great Gonerby and surrounding area regarding the proposed allocation of a greenfield site for 86 new houses known as "SKPR- 241 Land off Church Lane". Attached is a petition containing details of 470 residents who strongly object to this proposed plan. We believe the site is unsuitable to be considered for housing and request that South Kesteven District Council listen to our objections and remove this site from the local plan.

We have already lost so much green space around our village, and we will find ourselves with almost no green space left. It will undoubtedly have a permanent and detrimental impact on the area's landscape, infrastructure, heritage and biodiversity, the highways around the village will not cope with the influx of vehicles to and from this site and the access to this area is not fit for purpose and dangerous. Church lane (which is a restricted by-way) is already documented in your SKDC Grantham Green Infrastructure Strategy as "The Great Gonerby Walk", and the site area is in an area marked as "Historic Landscape" and "Historic Settlement Core". This site has been rejected against several times before with previous planning applications. The plan is fundamentally unsound as there has been insufficient community consultation, and the authority has failed to properly consider its environmental, social and economic effects. We believe that the devastating impact of this proposal makes it unsound and contrary to the council's community strategy. We would like any outcomes to be relayed to Great Gonerby Parish Council. Petition objecting to proposed housing development SKPR-241 by SKDC on land off Church Lane, Great Gonerby.
