i object to both SKPR-56 & SKPR-277, the village sewage system is not fit for purpose and cannot possibly sustain additional households .The village school is already oversubscribed and cannot accomodate the current village demographic , the result of which is additional traffic "FERRYING" pupils to outlying schools on a road infrastructure which is already at full capacity during the rush hour. there are thousands of new dwellings purpose built on Elsea park only 2 miles away in bourne .Thurlby doesnt need two new unsustainable housing estates ruining its quiet rural village status.

There is insufficient infrastructure in place to support a development of this scale. The local area would be negatively impacted by any such development and therefore must not go ahead.

Concerned that this development is badly situated due to poor, almost single track road to the entrance of the site. In addition there would need to be a widened and better junction with obthorpe lane and high street to take a minimum addition of at least 80 vehicles also possible traffic lights at the junction of High Street and A15 to enable safe entry and exit to our village. Concern with the the local school places, where Thurlby School is already full due to Elsea Park building and its site does not appear suitable for expansion and there is no nursery or child minders in the vicinity either. An idea could be to re site the schooI on one of these sites, building it to 2 storey to accomodate more children and a nursery with good ,safe car parking and build some homes on the existing school site. I understand that more houses are needed nationally but maybe we could accept a couple of smaller developments which would not impact on the A15 traffic and our already stretched local amenities.

This should not happen due to access off a single track rural road that struggles with the amount of cars it already has use it. The location is totally wrong. There is enough houses being built in Bourne and deepings. The villages infrastructure cannot cope as it is. Sewers are victorian. Will destroy the countryside. Will impact the people surrounding it. The village doesn't want large scale developments. Its being forced on the villagers without allowing time for consideration

Extra housing would cause additional traffic in an already busy village. Will the infrastructure..school in particular be able to meet need. Concern also due to issues with services in the village, in particular water where there has been issues with leaks/flooding previously.

This proposed development wasn’t included in the SKDC 2036 final plan. Most traffic from Swallow Hill, whether from the village or via Manthorpe, uses Obthorpe Lane to access the A15 Southbound. Increasing traffic on this narrow Class C road, which lacks passing places and safe cyclist or pedestrian access, is unsustainable. The longer route via High Street won’t realistically be used. Additionally, local infrastructure is already at capacity: Thurlby’s sewage pumping station is full, and the primary school, with 203 pupils and a capacity of just 210, is nearly at maximum capacity. No further strain can be justified.

Strongly Object to this proposal, includes land that I own. There has been no dialogue from SKDC despite raising it. October to May our adjacent paddock has been waterlogged this year and this land was the same. The village sewerage is already overflowing at frequent occurrences and blockages on both the High Street and Obthorpe Lane. Water pressure is already low without adding more houses and 200+ extra cars. Road is 4.7m and under, cannot be wider without taking from residents gardens. It unreasonably will surround land used for horses potentially causing harm. The school is already overflowing subscribed.

Site has poor access onto a single track road - extra unsafe traffic impact to the bottom end of the high street due to parked cars close to A15 Junction. Village already has known issues with flooding an extra approx 30,000 plus litres of waste water per day at times of high rainfall will overwhelm already compromised out of date sewage system which will further exasperate flooding at bottom of the High Street. The SUDS system however well engineered system will undoubtedly add to flooding issues. Site is greenfield. A15 and infrastructure is already overstretched - Both sites are unsuitable.

I strongly object. The proposed number of additional homes will adversely affect the village atmosphere. The local school is already oversubscribed. Widening Obthorpe Lane to the correct standard impossible without use of land from current gardens.
Most local drivers using Obthorpe Lane courteous to walkers, cyclists and each other but increasing traffic increases danger to pedestrians and cyclists from accidents, air and noise pollution. Increased footfall potential to harm the SSSI at Dole Wood.
The proposed exit onto Obthorpe Lane is dangerous as in a dip.
Increased traffic and congestion at Horseshoe crossroads would increase accident risk.

Strongly object. The proposed number of additional homes will adversely affect the peaceful nature of the village with increased traffic, noise and overuse of facilities. The local school is already oversubscribed.
Obthorpe Lane too narrow for traffic the proposed housing would produce and cannot be widened sufficiently without use of garden land.
Increased traffic on Obthorpe Lane would endanger quiet enjoyment of this country lane by pedestrians and cyclists with increased accident risk, air and noise pollution.
Dole Wood SSSI would suffer plant and habitat loss with increased footfall.
Proposed exit onto Obthorpe Lane in dip a severe accident risk

The village of Thurlby & Northorpe cannot support the extra loading that close to a hundred more homes will make to already severly overloaded services. The sewage system is already in desperate need of upgrading. Raw sewage gushes from access covers during rain storms.
No spaces available at local schools for any age group of child.
No doctors or dentists spaces available
This will mean every family will have to travel outside the area by car or public transport
Obthorpe Lane is totally unsuitable for the extra traffic the proposal would bring

This development is over the habitat of birds of prey that live in the trees here and in Dole Wood, they hunt over the fields. Noise from this development will affect the birds of prey as well as the encroachment on their habitat. Drainage in the village is already a problem and a new development this will further add to this. Obthorpe Lane is one of the few safe local cycle routes that does not involve using the main roads There are already hundreds of new houses in the village (Thurlby/Northorpe); additional traffic is also an issue affecting village life.

Obthorpe lane is not a wide enough road for all the extra traffic from a minimum of 90 cars from this development. When there is an accident on the A15 lots of traffic comes down the lane. Recently that included large lorries!
Also it is difficult to get out onto the A15 now, all the extra traffic will just make it far worse.

- any development on this land will take away productive agricultural land
- it will encircle and endanger that welfare of horses in the adjacent paddock pre-during post construction
- the road is in a dip that any entrance for a development would increase drastically the potential for road traffic collisions especially with a potential increase of 200+ cars on a road width that is only 4m’s along the red line boundary
- the size and scale of potential delveopment is not in keeping with the size of Thurlby nor is it infill or ribbon development along a natural development

1. Obthorpe Lane is not suitable for substantial additional traffic, either during construction or when the site is populated.
2 Thurlby School is full, and there is no space for expansion without encroaching on Lawrence Park.
3. Services, particularly sewerage, will need major expansion to cope with substantial population increase.
4. The land being taken is good quality agricultural land.
For these reasons I object.

Strongly object. The proposed number of additional homes will cause unacceptable levels of traffic, air and noise pollution in the village.
Current infrastructure regarding sewage and water supply is already inadequate.
The village school is already over subscribed.
Obthorpe Lane too narrow for the proposed increased traffic and cannot be widened to the correct standard without use of land from adjacent gardens.
Increased danger to pedestrians and cyclists from accidents, air and noise pollution. Proposed exit into Obthorpe lane is situated in a dip creating significant hazard. Increased footfall harm to Dole Wood.

Objection
1. Risk of flooding adding to the ongoing drainage and flooding issues in Thurlby. Heavy rain cause the drains in Chapel Lane to bubble up, sewage deposited in garden, downstairs toilet bowl fills up.
2. Obthorpe lane not fit to cope with construction traffic.
3. Increase in traffic accessing A15 at a difficult junction.
4. Lack of infrastructure and availability in village and surrounding area - doctors and schools

The proposed site allocation will be connecting to Bourne Water Recycling Centre. Therefore, we recommend the following is included as a principle:
'Additional treatment capacity is required at waste water treatment works and new discharge permits are required for water quality targets. This should be incorporated early on in the development of scheme specifics, as part of a scheme wide delivery strategy which demonstrates that capacity is available or could be made available to serve the development subject to phasing'.

I object to the development as the village does not have the required infastructure.
Where will the children be schooled? Thurlby school is full now.
Where will they new residents be able to book appointments with a GP or dentist? Bourne surgeries are all full.
Will there be any upgrade of the drainage as Crown Lane floods now whenever we have heavy rain?.
Opthorpe Lane is not suitable to the heavy vehicles/ machinery that will be required and it will be worst still if it is going to be accessed by cars from another 86 houses.

Objection to SKPR-56 (86 dwellings)
I strongly object to the proposed 86 houses on site SKPR-56. Thurlby is a small village and this scale of development would overwhelm it. The roads, particularly around Obthorpe Lane, are already busy and unsafe at school times, and extra traffic will make this worse. Public transport is limited, so almost every household will rely on cars, adding to congestion and pollution. Flooding is already an issue locally, and more building will increase the risk. Schools, doctors, and services are already stretched. This development would damage the character of the village and harm the environment.

I strongly object to this area of land being developed for the reasons stated:
The area is prone to flooding and there are constant sewerage and drain leaks close by. This is a quiet country Lane that can’t take 80 houses, Dole Wood is an area of natural beauty - this will spoil it and disturb wildlife. The local school, doctors and dentists are all at capacity, adding an additional population of this size will be too much, local services will breakdown. The small high street road and surrounding streets cannot cope with this additional volume of traffic and parking. This is good arable farm land that should not be built on. Bourne has thousands of houses going up, don’t spoil Thurlby village!

Obthorpe Lane from High St is too narrow for large vehicles eg bin lorry and tractor to pass without mounting footpath; going south past site entrance it is single track without passing places. It is regularly used by agricultural traffic and if A15 is closed is a diversion for commuter traffic. Junction of Obthorpe Lane/High St has restricted visibility.
The sewage system and Pumping Station in the village cannot currently cope and properties in Obthorpe Lane have experienced sewage backing up in toilets.
Flooding is frequent down High St.

I object to this proposal .
Thurlby is a small village already struggling with limited access to Doctors , Dentists and Hospitals.
The local Schools are at capacity.
Our roads are constantly flooding especially in the centre of the village .
Obthorpe Lane is a very narrow road , mainly used by cyclists and pedestrians accessing Dole woods , which is a nature reserve .
The impact of building a large estate on that land would be catastrophic to the local people and wildlife , It is also arable land which should not be sold off to large developers .
