The roads and infastructure are not able to handle a further 30 homes on Obthorpe lane. This will create serious traffic issues at all times of day, but specifically in the morning and evening when it is difficult enough to get onto or off the A15 from the Thurlby junction. It will be even worse if traffic goes down Obthorpe Lane, the obvious alternative, which is a single car roadway which is also used by walkers and horses due to its current reduced traffic numbers.
You are alsao destroying farm land for growing crops.

I object to this due to increased traffic, noise and disruption of a village that does not have the capacity or infracstructure to provide more homes in this locality. The countryside and preservation of wildlife and crops to be destroyed at the detriment of the locals and in particular the volume of yet more traffic that the village cannot withstand. Roads are already uneven with potholes and no curbs in particular the volume of traffic impacting the A15 which already cannot cope and is becoming more and more dangerous and thus threatening the peace and tanquility of this area.

This development is not sustainable given that the sewage system and pumping station for Thurlby and Northorpe are currently at capacity. Heavy and sustained rainfall results in the system being overloaded with raw sewage escaping from inspection covers in the lower lying areas of the village, particularly Church Street. The Anglian Water pumping station ultimately floods and fails. Several properties experience problems with toilets backing up under these circumstances. A further 86 houses will completely overload the system.
Access is also a major issue given this largely a single track road inadequate and unsafe for additional traffic.

I am mainly concerned about the proximity to Dole Woods. This is a very unique and small wooded area containing rare plants. It would be a great shame for it to be ruined by children/youngsters riding on mountain bikes and leaving litter. Also the village does not have enough amenities for more housing.

As a civil engineer, I am concerned about existing flooding issues within Thurlby. More sewage going into this will not help the issue and will create more raw sewage in people’s gardens. After heavy rainfall there is poo on the streets, this makes me concerned about the health implications. It is also already hard to turn out o to the a15 from thurlby, 90 new houses is going to make it a lot worse. Obthorpe lane can’t take any extra traffic. Thurlby has already expanded massively and it can’t expand more without improvements to the school, drainage and infrastructure.

The traffic going through Thurlby is already heavy and it is difficult to turn out from High Street onto the A15 at peak times. Whenever there is a period of heavy rain, the drains quickly back up and some houses regularly flood. Similarly, the sewage system is already overloaded after a lot of rain, meaning there can be raw sewage on the road and our toilets back up. Thurlby doesn’t have the capacity for more houses, people, cars, with the current infrastructure.

Thurlby only needs one major housing development. SKPR-56 will alter the character of the existing village to a much greater extent. Access via Obthorpe lane will affect the existing residents’ use of this lane for leisure, dog walking , Dole wood etc.

Loss of Open Safe Space Amenity: this lane is used by local people from parents pushing babies in prams ,toddlers with family, young children biking/walking, teenagers with friends enjoying a carefree/fun bike ride, joggers, horseriders, dog walkers, last but not least the elderly walking /biking HAPPILY knowing they are safe from busy traffic, presently this lane promotes a HEALTHY MIND & BODY for lots of people saving our Health Service money. It is a beautiful Lincolnshire country lane admired/used by many if planning goes a head it will become a concrete/tarmac baron road without NATURAL beauty.

I Object to Loss of Amenity of the entire aspect of Obthorpe Lane should this Development be approved, this lane has & is the Access for residents to enter the Rural landscape via Foot/Cycle/Horse, Families walking with Baby Buggies/Small Children on cycles etc.

I object to these plans as our green spaces should be cherished and protected especially with the substantial amount of new housing already being erected in other areas of this and neighbouring counties. Thurlby is a small village and not equipped for this amount of new housing. It will have a debilitating effect on traffic, and facilities such as doctors and dentists in Bourne and potentially Deeping (who are already fighting their own housing development battle), as there will be an influx in new patients which these small practises will struggle to manage.

The proposed expansion would increase the population density of the small village significantly without consideration of the impacts to local services and infrastructure. Thurlby Primary School is at capacity, the nearest nurseries are in Bourne, local GP surgeries are at capacity and there’s no NHS dentist taking on new patients. Considering the expansion of Bourne and Market Deeping this really will compound the issue putting too much pressure on local services and infrastructure. Traffic would increase significantly on roads that have already had fatal accidents, making access worse and increase risk of more tragedies. Safe access needs to be considered

Concerns re adequacy of sewage disposal from this site and traffic congestion in High Street where access to A15 southbound is already difficult at rush hour. Also Obthorpe lane is too narrow for traffic to go the other way from the site and will deny pedestrians access to Dole wood as cars have to mount the verge to pass each other. This is a route used a lot by cyclists who will also be endangered by additional traffic

Current rainwater drainage is insufficient and often overflows in heavy downpours. Obthorpe Lane is too narrow for additional traffic and existing residents should not loose part of their properties for any widening. Currently insufficient school places and no plans to address this issue. Bottleneck’s at peak times with traffic trying to get onto the A15 both at Thurlby and Northorpe junctions any further developments would only make this worse.

We currently have poor road conditions, so not have the school system to support, local town is over subscribed with doctors and dentists. In the village we see significant issues with flooding. Accessing the A15 in the mornings is already difficult adding more houses will contribute to making this worse. If there is an accident on the a15 obthrope lane becomes congested causing further issues. The road is a single road and struggles with passing cars.
The village isn’t equipped to deal with more houses and more cars.

The proposed development is too close to Dole Woods, ancient woodland, hunting grounds for birds of prey. Birds of prey also live in the trees all around the proposed site. Traffic onto Obthorpe Lane (in practice a single track roadway) would be unacceptably increased; this is also the only safe cycling and horse riding route out of the village. The development would place further strain on drainage and the village facilities in general.

I strongly object to this development:
1 Obthorpe Lane is a very quiet, narrow road and not suitable for perhaps 150+ extra vehicles using it everyday - trying to exit the village via a busy A15.
2 This will put pressure on the local Primary School, secondary schools, Doctors, Dentists etc in nearby Bourne
3 All services will be stretched - roads, drainage services etc
4 Extra 86 houses plus houses in proposed development SKPR - 277 - a further 50 houses is madness.
5 Consider Bourne with its many new hundred houses proposed.

We would like to raise my objection to the proposed housing development SKPR – 56 on the following grounds
A: situated outside the main part of the village it is a development on productive green field land
B: Access if down a lane deemed by the police to be too narrow for lorries. Two cars cannot pass without one pulling off onto the grass verge.
C: The lane is used by pedestrians, dog walkers, horse riders and cyclists whose safety will be significantly compromised by both the construction traffic and additional traffic generated by the inhabitants of the new houses.
D: There is no footpath to the proposed new development nor is there the space to create one.
E: Walking from the village facilities will necessitate crossing the high street at a spot where visibility is severely compromised.
F: The scale of the development is out of keeping with the existing size of the village
G: The existing junction of Obthorpe Lane and Thurlby high street is already very dangerous.

There is not sufficient infrastructure to support this proposed development, ie doctors, schools etc the water and sewage system are antiquated and prone to leaks and the potential increase in road traffic will simply make Obthorpe Lane incredibly dangerous as it is only a single car width, therefore walking along it to get to and from Dole woods, as many local residents do, will become extremely hazardous. The village roads will also become extremely congested causing issues such as air and noise pollution. I strongly object to this and any subsequent suggested developments within Thurlby!

The roads around Thurlby are not wide enough to sustain another 136 dwellings. Whenever there is an accident on the A15, cars divert via Wilsthorpe/Obthorpe and the village gets completely congested. The suggestion of widening the road in front of existing dwellings is pointless as traffic joining the a15 will turn left out of the development on to Obthorpe lane towards Kates Bridge and that is where the road is at its narrowest. Thurlby will lose its village feel if this development goes ahead....we're becoming another Elsea Park

This is valuable agricultural land.

The access location is not suitable. Obthorpe Lane is single lane traffic. There is poor visibility looking south where the road is on a bend and rises up a hill.

The area is a valuable wildlife corridor. Hedgerows and trees will be destroyed.

It will create too much extra traffic in the village, into Bourne and on the A15.

The view looking east from the current housing will be blocked, resulting in lower house prices.

The sewage system would not be able to cope.

The village primary school, local schools, dentist, doctors are full.
