Regulation 18 Draft Local Plan

Representation ID: 10

Received: 05/03/2024

Respondent: Miss Katie Williamson

Representation Summary:

Objection to SKPR-57due to insufficient road networks, schools, shops and medical services which are promised with every new development and never provided.
The fields proposed to being built in are home to lots of wildlife and flood on a regular basis. Belton Road is already a very busy road with frequent road collisions and flooding.
The existing estates in Gonerby Hill Foot will not cope with increased traffic with a proposed southern access road.
We lived on Poplar Farm prior to Gonerby Hill Foot and that estate has never had the promised facilities built despite multiple residents and councilors chasing.

I cannot make an informed decision without seeing the comprehensive masterplan for the entire site - not least because of the topography and the proximity to the Main Line.

Representation Summary:

SKPR-57 - Land Off Belton Lane
The land off Belton Lane is one of the last few areas where we can enjoy the fields and nature surrounding Grantham. Most of the green areas are being built on which leaves few places to enjoy nature. We are finding that in order to enjoy the great outdoors we are travelling, by car, to protected forests etc which only increases the emissions. We are losing the easy access to nature we should be able to enjoy for free. These fields are home to a large amount of wildlife including Deers, muntjacs, etc

Representation Summary:

SKPR-57

The fields and farm land off Belton Lane is a regularly used green space that provides a large benefit to the community.
While out walking I have met other residents who live locally who have become close friends. I know I am not alone in this and that the green space has provided much enjoyment and community cohesion to those in the area.

With large amount of building work occurring around Grantham there are less and less easily accessible green spaces for the community to enjoy without the need to drive.

Respondent: Sara Barnes

Representation Summary:

Fields currently used for crops and a place for walking. A place to escape stresses and enjoy nature which is good for mental health and needs to be taken into consideration. Concerned about increased traffic, road conditions, parking, and access to facilities. Insufficient infrastructure to support further development in this area. Proposing to build on boggy/waterlogged land could cause numerous issues in the future. Concerns of loss of village identity with development opening out onto Belton Lane between Great Gonerby and Belton village. Land at end of Hazelwood Drive should be enjoyed by Grantham with community facilities such as green spaces rather than building on every field.

Regulation 18 Draft Local Plan

Representation ID: 458

Received: 12/04/2024

Respondent: Mr Luke Turner

Representation Summary:

The proposed housing development in Gonerby Hill Foot is facing criticism primarily due to concerns about the inadequate road network to accommodate additional vehicles. Residents argue that the existing roads cannot handle increased traffic flow. Furthermore, local schools are already at full capacity, raising worries about the impact of new residents on educational resources. Additionally, there's a strong emphasis on preserving the area's wildlife and nature, with residents emphasizing the importance of maintaining a harmonious balance between development and environmental conservation within the community.

The infrastructure cannot cope with more traffic, neither is there the scope to rectify this , buses and emergency are unable / struggle to access many areas already. Resident in this area for 40+ years have seen big increase in traffic without this build especially at peak time and when A1 is blocked.
Suggest spitalgate level , funds already spent on by pass would be much more appropriate/ better access to local areas without clogging up town any further.
