This green space, full of important and necessary fauna and flora to keep this wonderful planet alive.
The surrounding areas cannot and will not cope with more vehicles accessing it, already the roads are in disrepair. The effect that this proposal is having on residents mental health is very worrying indeed

The roads are not fit for this level of traffic, especially with the Poplar builder weedling their way out of building the Bridge
Where are the children that move here going to go to school? See Priory allocation policy - ONLY 30% OF THESE CHILDREN WILL QUALIFY FOR A PLACE!! So 70% of these children of secondary school age will have NO local school
Will those living in cul-de-sacs that you plan to make into through roads receive compensation as this will devalue their property as a cul-de-sac is a selling point.

I live on [redacted] and enjoy walking my dogs in these fields as it is good for my mental health. When icy it is very difficult to walk across Arnold Avenue as none of these roads are gritted, so extra traffic down this road in the winter would be a danger to all pedestrians and car drivers.

Representation ID: 596

Received: 21/03/2024

Respondent: Mr Stuart William Flowers

Representation Summary:

Proposed development going against the protection of wildlife and food security farmland in very diverse and beautiful part of outer Grantham. Land used by 100s over the week for walking, with or without dogs, encouraging wellbeing in nature. Many animals roam these fields and woodlands as do birds and there are bats present in areas. Belton House trust in 2012 rejected any building on this area from proposal to build in 2010 – 2012. There has been too much development in Grantham with many large housing estates being built. Should only build on brownfield sites not important countryside and areas of diverse wildlife.

Representation Summary:

The estate cannot deal with the amount of traffic that would go through there a problem with cars .that park on the road long term .when the A1 is closed .which happens regularly the main road is at a standstill .plus emergency vehicles .would not have access ..in the winter months its a nightmare travelling as we are on .a hill ..plus we would lose our green space .which .important to our community and eco system And grantham can not deal with the amount of traffic know .and of course we have no facilities in grantham itself. We all ready have .other estates being built as we speak . Therefore as a member of our community its very important to us that this does not go head as the estate cannot deal with the amount of cars that would come through our small estate.

Access to your collections for waste will be compromised could you please get back to me regarding this matter we need you on board to put a stop to it.

Representation Summary:

The local infrastructure is not in place to support the increased dwellings. Especially in relation to roads, traffic public transport access, medical facilities. Also the local green spaces are used by local residents to escape the congestion of town. In an area where people actively trying to keep green spaces for everyone it seems that starter homes and flats redeveloping the town centre would be a better option than more 3-4 bedroom homes

Re: SKPR-57 Land off Belton Lane
I would like to register my objection to the above proposal, due to the increase in traffic, noise, pollution and loss of green space. Also, due to increased risk of flooding already worsening on Belton Lane.

Response to 4.2 Planning policies reference SKPR-57
The character of Grantham is being severely impacted by this proposal to build into the skyline and high into the escarpment that surrounds the town.
This will alter the towns cherished characteristics.

Regulation 18 Draft Local Plan

Representation ID: 720

Received: 07/04/2024

Respondent: Helen Start

Representation Summary:

Development on this site will have negative repercussions on existing residents, on local wildlife and on the environment. The site holds sentimental value and was well used by the community during Covid-19. Hospital has been downgraded, waiting lists for doctors and dentist, and traffic issues during rush hour. Following rain this winter, ground remains saturated along Belton Lane. Developing the site will exacerbate these issues. Concerns regarding access to the development, road conditions and safety. Great Gonerby designated as a Conservation Area in 1992 thanks to “quality and interest” encroaching on this blocking view of the church spire and mature trees would be criminal. Concerns regarding cost of living and affordability of new homes.
