There has already been substantial housing built in Market Deeping over the last 25 years, and OS1- SKDC's Open Space and Recreation Study 2023 states that the Deepings is deficient in natural and semi natural green space. Mill Field is not an official natural green space but as grassland (surrounded by hedgerows and well established trees and a habitat for wildlife ) which is cut only once per year ,it has served as such for many decades and thus satisfies SKDC's standard provision for that category- 2ha per 1000 population within 720 metres.

Development on this site would be contrary to policies, SP2, SP4a, SP4b, DNP12, EN5, and OS1.
It would furthermore reduce the effectiveness of already failing Deepings doctors practice and over run the already overflowing Deepings schools.

It is the only large green space in the area that is used by all manner of people from all around the Deepings, for exercise, dog walking, joggers, and spending times with their families enjoying the space, wildlife and countryside. The development will destroy Millfield lane, it is a beautiful country lane also enjoyed by people from the surrounding area, it is a very quite lane full of lovely trees and wildlife. It is the only Green Lane in Market Deeping and really needs protecting. If the Mill Field site was to be given as a Green Space the people of the Deepings could really utilise the space for everyone to enjoy for the generations to come. Lastly, we must all remember in Lock Down this place was a very crucial area, where social distancing and exercising was needed. Let us all hope that Lock Down will never happen again.

We object to proposed development of site SKPR-144 Mill Field Market Deeping. This is the only green space in the local area. The extra volume of traffic would cause problems to the Tattershall Drive Estate and to traffic entering Market Deeping. We are concerned about access and further development causing infrastructure problems. The green space is used by many residents of Market Deeping on a daily basis.

I object to site SKPR-144 Millfield rd Market Deeping being used for housing because although it is not officially an open green space it has been used as such for decades by the local people. It is covered in grass like a meadow. It does not look like an agricultural field at all and the deep is deficient in natural open green space so please preserve this land as an open green space for the people of Deeping.

Millfield is not the right place to site a new housing development. Millfield is a popular recreational local green space in close proximity to the town.
There are several other undeveloped pieces of land adjacent to new housing in Deeping. Use those instead.

I wish to add my objections to developing site SK-144 Mill Field. It is a beautiful natural green space one of very few in the area. I have recently been having cancer treatment and one of the recommendations for care from Macmillan well being service is for daily 'green therapy'. This is a daily short walk , or as much as you are able, in a natural green space. Millfield is the option and I was very grateful for it. I have walked there almost every day since moving here in 2016.
In the previous consultation a few years ago I voted for development much closer to my home if that meant Millfield could be saved as a natural facility for this area.

I am emailing to object to the proposed new housing development at SKPR-144. There are already too many new houses being built in Market Deeping, with no additional infrastructure to support them. The local dentists and doctor's surgeries are already a nightmare to use and the main school is continuing to struggle, due to the increase in pupils, with no additional funding.

Highly value one of the last remaining green open spaces in Market Deeping and feel the loss to the community of this space would be significant in terms of the health benefits it provides, the impact on wildlife and the impact to the community who socialise in the area.
Market Deeping has grown significantly in the last few years and does not have sufficient infrastructure to support further growth from accessing the doctors surgeries and school places to the additional traffic (congestion and air pollution) that a further development would generate.
Development on site would be contrary to policies SP2, SP4a, SP4b, DNP12, EN5, OS1.

I understand that the local council may profit from this development but you also need to strongly consider the residents that pay their monthly council tax and heartfelt inject to your proposal. Can you imagine who you will de value the price of properties on this lane - extremely angry homeowner.

I have detailed the reasons for my objection to the development below.
1. SKDC states that the Deepings is deficient in natural and semi natural green spaces. 2. Millfield is a Green Lane. 3.Any development should be appropriate and clearly the proposal is not. 4.Development on the edge of a settlement should have the approval of the local community, which this proposal does not have as the Town Council and Neighbourhood Council have objected.
5. Any development should not compromise the nature or character of the town. I do hope that you regard these objections as valid and I thank you for your attention.

The health of the local people is so important & this large green area is very necessary for people to go to walk, run or take out their dogs. We have a high incidence of obesity in the UK & it is necessary that there is somewhere to go to exercise for free. Also the area is over populated leading to our Health Centre, dentists & schools being under enormous strain.

I object to the plan to build on the green area off Millfield Road in Market Deeping (application SKPR-144). Market Deeping is a rural community whose local facilities are under strain. The proposal is out of keeping with the town. I consider that the additional traffic such a development would bring will present a hazard to Millfield Road and the surrounding areas. I object to site SKPR-144 Millfield market Deeping being used as a site for development because a housing estate would not be in keeping with the character of the area. I use it every weekend and occasional evenings as a place to run. I love doing laps of the field, one of them if I’m flagging and both on a good day! There’s no where else like it and it would be sorely missed. I also have concerns about further developing market Deeping unless something is done to expand the doctors. The deepings practice is not fit for purpose and can not cater for the 26,000 people who are currently here.

One of the remaining green spaces used by residents for exercise and relaxation. Site is surrounded by hedgerows and established trees and provides a habitat for many types of wildlife. Development of this space would be contrary to policy OS1. Site borders a designated Green Lane, used by many local residents for pastimes such as dog walking. Additional buildings and traffic would ruin the Green Lane and go against policy DN12. History of surface water and flooding issues on site. Development of the land would surely increase the flood risk to surrounding areas and should not be allowed (Policy EN5). Development would not be in keeping with the area and not appropriate to its scale, size or layout (SP4B). Believes the local community does not support the proposed site (Policy SP4A).

Millfield Road has been designated as a Green Lane (DNP12). Site used by residents for exercise and enjoying the environment. A new housing estate would increase traffic destroying the environment and make it a dangerous place for recreational activities along the remaining Green Lane. SKDCs Open Space and Recreation Study in 2023 (OS1) stated that the Deepings is deficient in natural and semi natural green space. Development would compromise the character of the town in a detrimental way (SP2). Residents would have to travel to enjoy a space of similar quality and convenience. Development would need substantial support from the community (SP4a). Development would not be appropriate in size and scale to the area (SP4B). Development would run risk of increasing flood risk on the site and elsewhere in the town (EN5).

Proposal soon after three recent developments which has added 60% more residents and more time is needed to absorb in terms of infrastructure provision. Community transitions are dying off. Lack of demand for the new properties being built, maybe this is not the right place now. Difficult place to gain employment without long commutes on under maintained and dangerous roads.
The recent developments have not provided for the people that really need housing in the area. School expansion not possible due to boundary constraints. Village centre struggles with shortage of parking for the shop and further development would need to provide commercial retail space. Neighbourhood Plan should be adequately referred to.

Residential allocation is inappropriate, unnecessary and does not meet the criteria of the Site Assessment due to the following reasons: Contrary to policies, SP4, SP3, DNP12, EN1, and DNP10. There is a readily available acceptable site – SKPR-248 and should be included instead of SKPR-144 if another site is required. Availability of semi-natural greenspace is identified as deficient in The Deepings within the Open Space and Recreation Study so should be retained. Site assessment has flagged surface water flooding and minerals and waste policy as a red constraint. Site does not provide ready or easy access to public transport network or amenities. Millfield Road is currently subject to a Quiet Lane Status designation.
No vehicle access should be considered form Millfield Road to protect the rural character of the route (Policy DNP 12.3).

Reasons for objection to SKPR-144 is the absence of popular support (as required by SP4a.), and the ready availability of an acceptable alternative site (in the Housing Land Availability Study but not yet allocated) at Land North of Spalding Road, SKPR-248)
Concerns regarding: Deficiency of open space in The Deepings as identified in the Open Space and Recreation Study 2023. Site assessment has flagged surface water flooding and minerals and waste policy as a major constraint. Site does not provide ready or easy access to public transport network or amenities. Millfield Road is currently subject to a Quiet Lane Status designation.
Sites already allocated within the current Local Plan have yet to be developed and the alternative sites available would indicate that this allocation is not in fact required at this stage. Contrary to policies SP4, DNP12, SP3, EN1.

Millfield Road is a unique country lane within the town of Market Deeping, no other road anchors Market Deeping to the countryside like Millfield. It is perfect for a reflective country walk right on the towns door step. This calm and unique character would be destroyed by developing Mill Field. The road is akin to a lane, and only suitable for light traffic. The junction with Stamford Road already has a dangerous blind spot. Cars exiting the nearby roundabout are not seen by other road users exiting Millfield Road. I’ve personally witnessed numerous close calls, with accidents only narrowly avoided. A development on Mill Field, whose access is proposed to be onto Millfield Road, would increase the likelihood of severe accidents at this junction. Residents of Market Deeping would also loose the tranquility this area brings to the town. I urge the planning department to refuse the application for development and retain Mill Field and Millfield Road for the community of Market Deeping.
